Yesterday before we left for work my husband had QVC on the screen, and they were promoting Clarisonic which I am sure everyone has heard of as one of Oprah's "favorite things". This is a handheld make-up cleansing system with a rotating head. The inventor-- a Dr. Ron or Rod was explaining all of the features. This brush features a nicely shaped holder, the charger and three trial sizes of cleanser. There is also a card that informs the purchaser that with registration, they can choose a second brush.

I was surprised that the price on QVC was the same as ours at Ageless and if you come into the store you do not have the shipping and handling charge.

The inventor mentioned that the brush cleans the face six times better than a washcloth, and besides removing make-up, also takes away much of the outer layer of dead skin. This process in turn makes skin products last longer,because less has to be used to penetrate.

The brush also keeps a thirty day charge and is waterproof so you can keep it in the shower. I have been using the brush for quite awhile and like the results, the fact that pleasing intermittent beeps alert you to move the brush to the next area of the face and that I will be able to take it with me without the charger when I travel. Any skin cleanser can be used so if you are on any skin-care system from us, you can use the cleanser that is the brand you already have. My husband keeps his personal one in the shower, but I am more excited with the travel ease.

Obagi already showing results

I mentioned in an earlier blog that the Obagi Condition and Enhance kit adds to Laser treatments and injections. Last week I went back to my Obagi system to enhance the Cynosure Elite Laser treatment of my pigment treatment. I have only been back to the system for five days, but I already can see my pigmented areas lightening more. The other benefit is that it will make any wrinkles less predominant as it penetrates into the dermis and transforms this at the cellular level, resulting in improved surface texture.

Some clients are purchasing the travel kit which is less (of an expense) and allows them to see results and then continue with the larger kit later. Since in prescriptive products, less is better than more, the end-product allows one to use less make-up. Happy Turkey Day...Joy

Spray Tanning Tips and Latisse Results

In an earlier blog, I mentioned tips for post care of a spray tan to make sure that your tan lasts. Today, I am going to offer pre-care for airbrush tanning: 1. Exfoliate completely and do not apply any lotions two hours prior to tanning. 2. Wear dark, loose fitting clothes and shoes (like flip-flops) to help prevent uneven color on your body. Do not exfoliate or use a loofah before your next tanning session.

Sun Damage Repair Continued

My last blog concerned sun damage prevention. Our specials this month have several procedures related to repairing sun damage.

You can have the Chemi-abrasion which includes a chemical peel and a microdermabrasion which is a $40 savings. We also have brought $99 microderms (Wednesday only).

Don't forget our Laser treatment for brown pigmented areas of the face (you need a consult with the Nurse Practioner for this) and our Obagi kit.

I recently (in our spa in Sugarloaf), had the second of three Laser treatments on my brown pigmented areas and I plan on returning to my Obagi kit to supplement this. The Obagi also retexturizes the skin; making lines less noticable.
